First, you'll need to prepare the new key. Before you start, be sure that the anti-theft device is disabled by placing blocks on your rear wheels and activating the handbrake. Place the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position. This will activate the accessories but will not start the engine. Repeat this 5 times, and then put the key in the "on" position.

Next, you'll need to find a new case for the old key fob. They can be found at any auto parts store, and they're generally quite affordable. You can get them without electronics depending on the model.

To open the case you need to gently push the flathead screwdriver into the slot in the middle. After you've separated the case, you will have access to all the internal electronics. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pull out the electronic components.
